Thats not norml...

Yesterday, one of my friends asked me about a proposed bill they had been asked to sign a petition about, namely one about legalizing marijuana in Michigan. i looked into it a little bit, and two things became clear fast, one, the bill was about medical marijuana, not general usage, and two, it was shot down in late November. so the petition that was proposed to him must have been to put it one the 2008 ballot, which is what the Michigan chapter of norml is trying to do, so that they wont have to muck about with convincing the legislature that its a good idea. now, another thing that poped out at me, when i was looking around on normls site, was that there are nine chapters in michigan, which in and of itself, is a not remarkable, or odd. but what did strike me, is that areas like Hillsdale, which are kinda small, have a chapter, but that Detroit, Grand Rapids and Lansing, three of the larger cities in the state, do not. why this is, i can only guess, but it strikes me as not...norml.

For Ashley.

I think that this mans words may hold weight on the topic of science and religion, which seems to have become very active in recent times. bonus points if you know who he is.

again.

so yet another night of staying up to late playing Starcraft. and i also spent sometime drinking coffee downtown. it was a rather uneventful day. at some point, I'm going to get around to posting in live journal, or face book that i have this thing, and see if i can direct more traffic at it. then it will feel a bit more like something that people read, as opposed to something that no one reads, which is how it is now. i really need to start going to bed sooner, it would make life so much simpler, what with classes and all. perhaps ill turn this into some sort of guide to East Lansing. i think i shall. I'm now declaring this a guide to East Lansing, and i shall review everywhere in East Lansing, and the Lansing area in general. that i go to, that is. to start, the best places to go get coffee: Espresso Royal, anytime before midnight, feels much less chain-y, and has better seating; soft couches, and such. if you just need coffee, or its late at night, then you would go to Beaners, down near where Michigan branches off from grand river. its the original, so you get to feel bad ass when you go there. it used to be an Arbys. its open 24 hours a day. its nice. but the chairs ain't great. now, if you are in the market for an energy drink, you can obtain at least redbull at any of the gas stations, or convenience stores in the city, which you will never be more than five minuets from, if your on grand river, at least. now, if you are looking for something a bit more high class than redbull, or any of the various run of the mill drink, i would suggest either CVS pharmacy, on Albert and MAC, or F.R.A.G., on grand river, right near Espresso Royal. frag has bawls, which is really good, and they offer particularly good prices, namely, $1.90 a can, so that with deposit, it only costs you two dollars, which is less than any place else in town charges, except for rip it, which is $.99. CVS has the full array of Jone's energy drinks, which is more than pleasant, although they do charge a little bit more for the more specialty ones, like Jone's. that is all for tonight, and ill probably review food providers on a first to serve, first to be reviewed status.

aww.....

awww.....my little Html clock has gone haywire, and no longer functions. to my great displeasure, i must now declare that despite the statement of the little thing down to the right, there is in fact, no clock on my site.

An open letter to Ms.Welliver in specific, and believers in general.

Ms.Welliver, I have been following along as this discussion has slowly progressed through the day, and i cant help but notice some distinct things that just sort of, leap to my attention as i read this recent attack of yours. And i do use the word "attack" in its fullest sense, ripe with the implication of malevolent intent, for it seems to me, through the course of my several re-readings of your "argument," that the majority of your case is founded (if it can be described as such) in unsupported allegations pertaining to the thoughts and intentions of your opponent. I fail to see how you could possibly know that she has "always doubted it," as you are not her, and that is the sort of thing that we have to take people words about. Just as i could say that you are obviously lying when you tell your fanciful yarn about benevolent clouds, and malevolent shadows, i do not. To assert that you are lying would be to assume a level of knowledge about your state of mind that i frankly cannot know, and as such, all i can do, is state it to be a possibility. just as i will state that there is the possibility that you are conveying your experiences accurately. In the former, i do not understand your motivation, and in the latter, your motivation does not matter, as you were evidently delusional at the time that you had the experience. For you see, what you have described is nonsense, how can you “experience” a world that is not physical in nature? Are not all of your senses rooted in reality? Do your eyes not detect photons, as mine do? Do your nerves react do different stimuli than mine? Where in your concretely physical body, is the sense organ that interacts with the intangible? It is in that question that i have laid a trap for you, because there is no answer to that question; if you can in any way, shape or form, interact with it, then it is most evidently not intangible; that is not a point that we can debate, it is merely a matter if definitions. Already at this point, we have ruled out all scenarios in which your story holds weight as is; it can only continue if you radically redefine various parts of it, which would be tantamount to forfeiture, and an admission of falsification. Alternatively, you could persist with the story that you have already placed on the table, which would merely confirm the notion that your mental faculties are in some way lacking. So the choice of which course to take is up to you, and i eagerly await, to find out what you decide the verdict is. Also, if you try to fight back with any sort of cop out argument revolving around how you think that I'm closed minded, and because i don't explicitly believe exactly what you believe, that i can therefore never understand, all i have to say is this: fucking grow the fuck up. If that is the best response that you can find to someone else's point, then you have obviously lost, and would be better respected if you would admit that at the least you cannot properly convey your point, and cannot continue. The way that you have chosen is just poor sportsmanship, and relatively easily overturned: did you “always” believe exactly what you believe now? I'm willing to bet that you didn't. How then, did you gain this understanding of the “spiritual world?” evidently, it is something that can be understood be a non believer. I'm not closed minded, I'm just fucking sick and tired of “spiritual people” running wild, and spouting their nonsensical, unsupported by any facts, ideas and beliefs, and then, when they are not embraced by the mainstream, crying to themselves about the bigotry and intolerance of the world, and how no one has an open mind, and everything like that. Let me tell you this, and this will be my last point: everyone else out here, in the real world, with any idea of how things actually are; we do have open minds, they are wide open, taking in the world that we can touch, and see, and hear, and we are basing our beliefs around what we find there, not in our imaginations; our minds are wide open, wider than yours could ever be.

so.

so, evidently, having this window pop up every time i oped IE isn't quite as good as i expected at having me actually update it with any frequency. but, i am seeming to do that at the moment. although i have nothing of significance to share with Ashley, the only person who looks at this, and infrequently, at that. so, I'm just going to discuss observations about the world. its cold. its painfully cold. but, that may be because its December. i have needle pokes, on my arms. phlebotomy was less than enthusiastically joyous today. we are coming up on exams, so we are having to practice. alot. and. it. is.....poky. ouch. so, in the end, I'm less than thrilled. hey, but at least Ashley is back down here on Tuesday, which is better than Wednesday, although today would be better. I'm completely babbled out, so I'm going to stop now. i wonder if any random people from the InterMcnet have found this. if you are from the Internet, and you find this, leave me a comment, and ill be happy. so yeah, bugger that for a lark....
